I came across this wonderful sentence from Ezra Pound's Guide to Kulchur. For Manchester read neo-liberal globalised free market capitalism.

The poison of Manchester has so cursed the world that half the anglo-saxons of our time spend their lives in some such imbecility, trying to decide on the form of govt, for all other races, while themselves being eaten to death by human lice.
